DC, deve il proprio nome al termine \u201cRebellum\u201d, ovvero alla ribellione dei nobili amalfitani, che portarono all\u2019autorit\u00e0 il Doge di Amalfi verso il 1000.<\/p><p>Il cuore di\u00a0<strong>Ravello<\/strong>\u00a0\u00e8 rappresentato da via\u00a0<strong>San Giovanni del Toro<\/strong>, un tempo abitata da patrizi romani che arricchitisi con il commercio, vi realizzarono le loro sontuose dimore.<br \/>Proprio sulla via delle antiche ville patrizie, immersa in un paesaggio di struggente bellezza e riparata da un imponente cancello, si cela Villa Fraulo, antica dimora medioevale, come attestano gli archivi ecclesiastici e secondo cui \u201d\u2026<\/p><p>Nei pressi del palazzo Vescovile si trovava l\u2019antichissimo palazzo di\u00a0<strong>Casa Cortese<\/strong>, di grandi dimensioni ed antico di pi\u00f9 di trecento anni, con colonne e finestre di marmo intagliate con mirabile artificio\u2026\u201d<br \/>Agli inizi del 900 (1908) la villa fu acquistata dal nobiluomo Pantaleone Fraulo che la ristruttur\u00f2 in chiave liberty e vi abit\u00f2 con tutta la sua famiglia fino alla fine della seconda guerra
