residence of the <strong>Fraulo<\/strong> family, who renovated it in the Art Nouveau style and lived there until <strong>1945<\/strong>, Villa Fraulo is today a wonderful <strong>4-star<\/strong> hotel in Ravello, situated in a privileged position with an incomparable view.<br>The town of Ravello has ancient origins, founded by Roman settlers in the 6th century AD; it owes its name to the term \u201cRebellum,\u201d referring to the rebellion of the Amalfi nobles against the authority of the Doge of Amalfi around the year 1000.<\/p><p>The heart of <strong>Ravello<\/strong> is represented by Via <strong>San Giovanni del Toro<\/strong>, once inhabited by Roman patricians who, having grown wealthy through trade, built their sumptuous residences there.<br>Right on the street of the ancient patrician villas, immersed in a landscape of poignant beauty and sheltered by an imposing gate, lies Villa Fraulo, an ancient medieval residence, as attested by ecclesiastical archives which state: \u201c&#8230;<\/p><p>Near the Bishop&#8217;s Palace stood the ancient palace of <strong>Casa Cortese<\/strong>, large in size and over three hundred years old, with marble columns and windows carved with admirable skill&#8230;\u201d<br>At the beginning of the 20th century (1908), the villa was purchased by the nobleman Pantaleone Fraulo, who renovated it in the Art Nouveau style and lived there with his entire family until the end of the Second World War.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7e77e21 e-flex
